ANNUAL DAY

Classrooms at LCIS are spacious and well resourced, large windows let natural light in throughout the day. Classrooms are designed in such a way that each student gets the teacher’s maximum individualized attention.

The physical space and furniture can be rearranged to align with the principles of student agency,flexibility and choice that leverage multiple modes of learning.. All classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards in addition to a state of the art modern Computer Science laboratory.

Computer Lab

Technology plays a major role in twenty-first century education. The new model of integrating technology into the curriculum means that computers are on demand throughout the school day. Technology helps in developing a plan that makes the most effective and efficient use of the computer. The computer laboratory has over sufficient computers with a wify internet connection for students. Student usage of media and technology are monitored and supervised by teachers.

The Science Laboratory

The science laboratory provides a space for experiential and hands on learning for students. There are separate workstations for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. There is also a designated 'Junior Laboratory' for middle school students.

The Library

Library is the heart of a school’s academic activities. The instructional programme of a school is tremendously influenced by its library. A library exposes a student to one’s culture as well as makes him aware of other cultures, provides him/her with latest knowledge, introduces to new literature, thoughts and ideas. At LCIS, the library is the main resource centre for students and Students have access to a vast collection of fiction and non-fiction books, reference books, academic journals, periodicals, magazines, newspapers and textbooks.

Math Laboratory

The mathematics laboratory is a place where student can experiment and explore patterns and ideas. It is a place where one can find a collection of games, puzzles, and other teaching and learning material. The materials are used both by the students on their own and with their teacher to explore the world of mathematics, to discover, learn and develop an interest in mathematics.

Here, students have the opportunity to see theories come alive and have fun with numbers. The lab creates a challenging atmosphere for students to put their mathematical abilities to test and enhances their analytical reasoning.

Sports

The importance of sports and games in school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. Increase in self-esteem and mental alertness make school sports and games necessary for every school age child. At LCIS -, we lay a strong emphasis on sports and physical development. The football turf and basketball court are designed and the spacious playground enables our students to build their physical fitness and develop interest in various sports activities.

Scholistic programme : Teaching students how to learn is just as important as teaching them what to learn. We encourage our students to think for themselves, ask questions and pursue their interests through independent reading and research.

The curriculum is regularly updated to stimulate students’ interests and gain the knowledge they need to compete in the fast-changing 21st century global world. Teachers strive to make the classes as interactive as possible and use different methods to get the best out of each student. Collaborative learning is incorporated into lessons so students can share ideas and learn with and from each other.

Students are engaged in experiential learning through a variety of resources. Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Physical Education are additional curricular offerings to all students. There are also many enrichment activities including outbound trips and exchanges with other schools.

Co Scholistic Programme : Education and learning are much more than what takes place in the classroom. LCIS provides students with varied opportunities to develop new skills and experiences beyond academics.

Arts Education

Arts education refers to education in the disciplines of music, theatre, dance and visual arts. The arts are key component in improving learning throughout a student’s academic journey.

Our music : Our music curriculum is the quality music education makes the entire learning process memorable. The instructors, are experienced and extensively trained to impart an exhilarating musical experience on a consistent basis.

Theatre : is an influential factor; creativity can flourish and means of self-expression can be developed. It is important to have mandatory theatre classes because when a student participates, they benefit significantly, not only in terms of exploring the hidden ability to act, but also by shedding the inhibitions associated with performing in front of an audience.

Artistic dance : Education serves to stimulate conscious understanding of the language of movement and to develop aesthetic knowledge and skill in movement expression. This provides students with deep, thought-provoking experiences that combine many art forms. Artistic pursuits yield thinking patterns and abilities that transfer to other areas of the student’s life. A student who expands his artistic sensibility sees the world from a different perspective..

Public Speaking

Public Speaking is essential for students from this current generation to become articulate speakers, well-groomed individuals, and to face the challenges of tomorrow. Our public speaking classes cater to unravel the individual personalities of our students.

Physical Education

PE is an integral part of the school programme which provides students with the opportunity to build physical fitness, learn important life skills such as discipline, persistence, teamwork and stress-management.

Our sports curriculum is planned and designed by Physcial Education Master, who are pioneers in athletes. The curriculum emphasis on building students’ skills which would enable them to participate in different kinds of sports events. Physical activity and fitness are known to benefit both health and academic performance, directly impacting the social behaviour and over-all development. At LCIS, students can choose from a wide variety of sports and physical activity like football, throw-ball, volleyball, basketball, cricket, yoga, and athletics.

Life Skills Education

The Life skills and counselling component are closely integrated with the academic programmes to ensure that the learning process are relevant and meets the needs of students in a holistic way. Students develop leadership abilities by providing practical experience in conducting life skills lessons.LCIS includes a Life Skills programme as a part of the curriculum. As a part of the programme, students learn tools to manage their emotions, become more self-aware, communicate effectively and manage interpersonal relationships.

Newspaper in Education (NIE)

Newspapers could contribute in enhancing literacy, and is an important educational resource. The schools that use newspapers daily promote the reading, writing and speaking skills, which are fundamental in students' academic performance. Times Newspaper in Education (Times NIE) is a novel program that helps students 'Stay Ahead' and aims at making 'Learning Fun'. It also contributes in enhancing the general knowledge and social awareness in students, this programme is lively and enlightening.
